Agricultural lending
Follow conditions behind financed farms and production areas during a credit cycle.
CAPABILITY 01 / INSTITUTIONAL AGRICULTURAL INTELLIGENCE
What is happening across the agricultural assets behind our portfolio?
A financial or programme portfolio can be visible on a ledger while the fields, production clusters and landscapes behind it remain difficult to observe between visits. Meridian helps teams see where physical conditions have changed and where a closer look is warranted.
OBSERVATION / CONTEXT / DECISION

01 / Institutional problem
Borrower records, disbursement schedules and field reports describe important parts of a portfolio. They may arrive at different times and tell little about changing vegetation, moisture or weather conditions across widely dispersed assets. Teams need a way to focus oversight without treating a remote signal as a credit conclusion.
02 / Meridian capability
Meridian organises relevant earth observation, weather, land and agricultural information around the assets and geographies an institution manages. Historical and in-season views help reveal changes, concentration and exposure, with observations presented alongside their dates and coverage limits.
The objective is not more maps. It is better decisions.
03 / Working method
Each engagement starts with a decision context. Observations are interpreted and reviewed before an institution acts.
Agree the assets, boundaries, season and portfolio question.
Compare available physical and weather conditions over time.
Identify cases and areas that need review or field attention.
Bring findings together with borrower, operational and field evidence.
04 / Applications
↗
Follow conditions behind financed farms and production areas during a credit cycle.
↗
View changes across geographically distributed guaranteed exposures.
↗
Focus monitoring teams on projects with material physical changes.
↗
See how weather or production conditions intersect with geographic exposure.
05 / Institutional value
A more consistent view of dispersed assets between scheduled visits.
A clearer basis for assigning field investigation and follow-up.
Time-stamped observations that can be considered with institutional records.
06 / Limits & governance
WHAT THE EVIDENCE CAN AND CANNOT ESTABLISH
A change in vegetation or moisture does not establish loan performance, diversion, fraud or misconduct. It can have several causes, including crop calendar, management decisions and data gaps. Meridian presents observations and prioritisation; the institution validates them and retains responsibility for credit, guarantee and enforcement decisions.
